At the moment I am reading this book called The Reader (you have probably heard the title lately or seen the movie). I have not finished it yet, but it looks promising. It's twisting, moving and a bit different. This is however not what this blog entry was supposed to be about, but something more to do with the movie itself. The award season is here, and we are soon heading for the mother of all award shows; The Annual Academy Awards. The award show itself is not as exciting as it used to be and you always got a clear idea of who is winning (yes, I know its always been this way; politics, politics, politics), still it's a tradition and this year I am heading for Trondheim to watch it with my sister to keep the tradition going. This year I am also planning to watch many of the movies nominated before the show, and since many of the movies arrive later here in Norway I got a pretty short time to finish this little project.
Movies allready seen:
"Revolutionary Road"
"The Dark Knight"
Movies to see:
"Changeling"
"Milk"
"Doubt"
"The Duchess"
"In Bruges"
"The Reader"
"Slumdog Millionaire"
"Vicky Cristina Barcelona"
"The Wrestler"
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"
As you can see I got a long way to go (and only a week to do it), so I will come back to you with nomination lists, and when the "big day" arrive; some fashion/show review and the winner lists.

Because happiness is only real if it lasts forever?
-
"Why? Why does what was beautiful suddenly shatter in hindsight because it concealed dark truths? Why does the memory of years of happy marriage turn to gall when our partner is revealed to have had a lover all those years? Because such a situation makes it impossible to be happy? But we were happy! Sometimes the memory of happiness cannot stay true because it ended unhappily. Because happiness is only real if it lasts forever? Because things always end painfully if they contained pain, conscious or unconscious, all along? But what is unconscious, unrecognized pain?"

slumdug millionaire is absolutely breathtaking. <3
Beautiful blog you got:)
Beautiful phrases from the book.. Make me want to read it too. And as for the movies, I really liked the Duchess, Revolutionary Road and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
I have only heard good words about Slumdog, but unfortunately it has made me tired of it even before I have gotten the chance to see it. I have to see it sometime though.
I liked those too Zupu. I actually though that I would find the Duchess boring, but it was lovely. No the thypical costume drama, I think.
and thank you Chili :)
