Learn how to sew

I have always wanted to learn how to sew. It looks so much fun and so practical to sew whatever you feel like. If you can't find that dress you are looking for, why not just sew one? I'm thinking of buying some easy patterns in the summer and just try to see if I can figure it out. Any ideas of what kind of pattern I should start with?

(all the pictures have been linked to weheartit, so if any of these pictures are yours and you want it removed: just let me know)

If you've never sewn before, you might want to start with a reproduction vintage pattern instead of an actual vintage pattern. It would be sturdier and hold up to mistakes that might be made :D Or atleast make sure you pattern has markings on it so you know what matches up with where

Thank you! :) Do you know where I can buy some reproduction vintage pattern? I can only find vintage patterns on etsy, and not any reproduction.
