The supernatural
All of these series have some kind of supernatural element in them
(every picture is linked to the series opening credits and the descriptions are taken from imdb)
Carnivàle
"1934, America. The Dustbowl. A fugitive named Ben Hawkins finds refuge within a traveling carnivale comprised of a tarot card reader and her catatonic/telekinetic mother, a blind mentalist, a bearded lady, an conjoined twins, among others."
One of my favorites. It's very thrilling and abit creepy, and have some very intriguing carachters. To bad it was put down after two seasons, because it would have been exciting to see what would have happened next. And I have to point out that the cinematography, the set, the costumes and the music is perfect!
Twin Peaks
"An idiosyncratic FBI Agent investigates the murder of a young woman in the even more idisyncratic town of Twin Peaks"
A cult classic. It's bizarre, abit akward, abit creepy at times, but so much fun, and very exciting. The same can be said about most of the characters as well, because the series has some of the most eccentric roles.
True Blood
"The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a barmaid living in Louisiana who can read people's minds, and how her life is turned upside down when the vampire Bill walks into her place of employment two years after vampires 'came out of the coffin on national television"
Not my favorite series (mostly because of some annoying characters), but it has grown on me. It gets better for each season, and no one can say that it's not exciting. Alexander Skarsgård and Deborah Ann Woll is a huge motivation for wathcing though.
LOST
"The survivors of a plane crash are forced to live with each other on a remote island, a dangerous new world that poses unique threats of its own"
Ok, the series lost its spark after some seasons, but then it became better again. I guess the motivation to continue watching was that you knew that it would have its finale after six season, and guess what: I was one of those who were more than satisfied with the ending. I thought it was perfect.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
"At the young age of 16, Buffy was chosen to hunt vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness. After the ordeal at Hemery high Buffy Summers wound up at Sunnydale High. Joined with Willow, Xander and her watcher Giles, Buffy fights the challenges og High School and saves the world... a lot"
I've just started seeing it again because it was one of my favorite series when I was little, and I have to say that it is still good. Ok, maybe it doesn't have the same quality as many other series, but it still has a good storyline full of drama and humour, and some very lovable characters.
PS: could not find the official opening credits, because youtube is loaded with fan made credits
Other series...
...which is not as good as the others, but which I have enjoyed (and not seen it all, yet)
Pushing Daisis
"A man has the power to bring dead people back to life."
Angel
"The vampire Angel, cursed with a soul, moves to Los Angeles and aids people with supernatural-related problems while questing for his own redemption"
Being Human
"A werewold, a vampire, and a ghost try to live together and get along"
